Terms & Conditions — Duet

1. Acceptance

By creating a Duet account, installing our mobile/desktop apps or otherwise using the Service you:

  • (a) agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and any in-app purchase conditions, and
  • (b) acknowledge that Duet uses strictly-necessary cookies and local-storage tokens for authentication and synchronisation.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and legally capable of entering a contract.

3. Account Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, current information.
  • Keep login credentials confidential.
  • Immediately notify us of unauthorised use.

4. Licence

Meraki.so LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable licence to install and run Duet’s software on devices you own or control.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all events, notes, tasks, reminders and other content (“User Content”). You grant Meraki a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, back up, transmit and display your User Content solely to operate Duet.

6. Integrations

Duet can connect to third-party services. By enabling or using an integration you authorise Duet to access and process the minimum data necessary for the stated purpose.

7. WhatsApp Integration (Default)

Duet creates and invites you to a WhatsApp group for you and your partner. By joining and remaining in that group, you agree to the following:

How it works: Duet uses a third-party library to access group messages. Message text, sender and timestamp are accessed on your device session and transmitted securely to Duet’s servers to generate tasks, notes and reminders. We do not build permanent logs of message bodies, as we do not save any of the messages received in the Whatsapp group.

Consent: Because both partners’ messages are processed, you must ensure your partner is informed. By staying in the group, both partners consent to this processing.

Opt-out: To stop processing, leave the WhatsApp group at any time. Leaving immediately stops new processing.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Duet for unlawful, harmful or deceptive purposes.
  • Upload malware or attempt to gain unauthorised access.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer or copy the Service.
  • Send spam or harassing content.
  • Violate privacy, intellectual-property or other rights.

9. Subscriptions & Fees

  • Web subscriptions are billed via Stripe; mobile subscriptions via Apple/Google.
  • Prices include VAT/GST where required.
  • Trials automatically convert to paid plans unless cancelled at least 24 hours before expiry.
  • Failed payments may result in suspension; data is retained for 30 days so you can reactivate.

10. Cancellation & Termination

You may cancel through web dashboard. We may suspend or terminate the Service for breach of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meraki’s total liability is limited to the greater of €100 or the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Meraki.so LLC from any claims or damages arising from your use of Duet or violation of these Terms.

14. Changes

We may modify these Terms by posting the updated version and notifying you by e-mail or in-app. Changes take effect 14 days after notice.
